Lecturio:
Microlearning modules for medical educators
Coursework: EME-6705
This course involved the business side of instructional design. Working with clients and making proposals is an integral part of the position of the instructional design professional.
Here, you will find a brochure developed for possible clients aimed at the hospitality industry, mainly in the Orlando area. A group of four designers created the concept, the company brand, and the design of the brochure, with careful attention to detail and issues of inclusivity.
The members of this team are noted on the front of the brochure. Kathleen contributed the idea of using CANVA as an authoring tool. I came up with the idea of a company specializing in hospitality as a homage to the greater Orlando area, along with the company name “Five-Star”, which ended up as “Five-Star Solutions”. Kathleen then created a company logo. We all contributed to the images and graphics used and met to discuss the appropriateness of all images. We also all contributed equally to the written content. If you review the biographies of each team member, you will detect a writing style. You can then identify which team member created individual brochure content. The brochure was created in the fall of 2021.
This is a professional development piece I worked on in conjunction with the Innovative Learning Department in my school district. It only has seven slides, as attendees were working on most slides. The PD took about 45 minutes in a virtual environment (Microsoft Teams) and catered to approximately 125+ attendees.
My role:
In this instance, I was the client, project manager, and facilitator. I did not create the actual presentation, which was done by Miriam Selevan. As a member of the staff development team at my school site, I collaborated with Miriam on what type of product to offer the staff. I then coordinated between the Innovative Learning Department and my administratration to present the training. I also participated in the facilitation of the training on how to add a completed course card to CANVAS. Lisa Paguaga was charged with monitoring the chat and following up with questions, as this was a virtual training.
